For the group project regarding textual media and multiwriting, my group and I chose to research the impact of celebrity influence in America and beyond. In this 52 page online, digital magazine, my group explored the social, political and religious impact of celebrities. Here, we were able to discover that there's a direct correlation between the celebrity as the poster-person for a brand and the consumption normalities of Americans. 

 

At first this project scared me; I thought, why can't we just write individual papers? However, once I began the research and saw how much more you could do in an online space, I grew to like the idea. This project encompasses every student learning outcome and topic we discussed and wrote about in class. This assignment made us apply our knowledge instead of just restating in a boring way what we learned throughout the year. Althought I thought I had understood all the student learning outcomes and concepts, it wasn't until I had to include them myself that I gained a full understanding. I'm grateful that I had the opportunity to actually apply my skills in a new setting despite how difficult it was at times.
